“Lone Survivor”

Posted: February 12, 2014 in Uncategorized

Finished the book last night and plan to see the movie version soon. Though the first third was about SEAL training in California, which was one long torturous page after another (“get wet and sandy”) the last two thirds are riveting, from the initial encounter with the Taliban to the very end, where the lone survivor is rescued. No matter what you think of the ongoing long war in Afghanistan you will realize that there are some very brave, dedicated men involved in anti-Taliban operations deep in those lawless mountains.
