*A charge of racism can and in fact often is predicated on just about anything. All one has to do is take an utterance (calling for lower taxes, opposing to excess immigration, saying to a black president you lie, etc–you know the routine), then shifting the context to something expedient, as when Jesse Jackson accused certain senators of nazism because they were calling for reducing the tax burden or when a certain black politician called an astronomer racist for talking about a black hole.
